Kowa TSN-88S PROMINAR 88mm Straight Spotting Scope Body

The Kowa TSN-88S PROMINAR 88mm Straight Spotting Scope Body replaces the Kowa TSN-884 spotting scope body. It uses the same eyepieces used with the TSN-99, TSN-880, and TSN-770 spotting scope bodies. Optically, the TSN-88S has an additional multi-coated and KR coated convex lens in front of the fluorite crystal convex lens. This system of lenses and upgraded lens coatings results in improved light transmission across the entire visible spectrum for the most natural colors ever in a Kowa spotting scope. The TSN-88S has a full magnesium alloy body instead of the hybrid magnesium/aluminum bodies of the 880s. The body is also shorter, reducing the weight of the scope by a couple of ounces. No longer is the filter thread at the distal end of the lens hood: it now resides right in front of the objective lens so it is shaded from direct light improving glare reduction. An additional screw hole in the mounting foot allows for multi-screw QR plate eliminating the possibility of the scope twisting on a single mount screw. Also included in the set is an optional aiming sight. The sight fits around the lens mount and is held on by the accessory collar or any of the other accessories that use these threads.
